OFFICIAL STATEMENTOn the partnership of SDO Aurora and 91st Infantry Battalion to launch youth info drive vs. CPP-NPA recruitment, infiltration

BASAHIN | Opisyal na pahayag ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte patungkol sa pagsasagawa ng information drive ng SDO Aurora at 91st Infantry Batallion kontra CPP-NPA recruitment:

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

On the partnership of SDO Aurora and 91st Infantry Battalion to launch youth info drive vs. CPP-NPA recruitment, infiltration

The Department of Education (DepEd) lauds the Schools Division of Aurora and the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ 91st Infantry Battalion (91IB) in forging a pact to launch an information awareness campaign against the recruitment and infiltration of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) among learners in the province.

Providing information and education to the youth about local armed conflict is a critical step to keep them from being deceived and recruited by terrorists and communists.

The effort of SDO Aurora and 91IB in establishing a whole-of-nation approach to address the root causes of the armed conflict is worthy of emulation by more education institutions in the country.

We trust that our schools and their partners will efficiently implement the information campaign while still adhering to the Department’s policies on gender sensitivity, safety, and peacebuilding, among others.

Patuloy nating alagaan ang kabatang Pilipino.
Patuloy nating mahalin ang Pilipinas.

Daghang Salamat.

Hon. Sara Z. Duterte
Vice President and
Secretary of the Department of Education

IMEE GRILLS DFA SEC..MANALO ON PHIL. STAND OVER SABAH CLAIM

Sen. Imee R. Marcos presses Foreign Affairs Sec. Luis Enrique Manalo to give his stand on the French court ruling ordering Malaysia to pay US$14.9 billion to the heirs of the Sulu Sultanate for breach of an international private lease agreement Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

During the meeting of the Commission on Appointments’ (CA) Committee on Foreign Affairs, Marcos brought up a newspaper column, in which the columnist accused the ambassador of being a “weakling” for his silence on the Sabah claim issue. “Given that you are the Secretary of our Department of Foreign Affairs, let’s now set the record straight.

What is actually your stand on the Sabah issue? Do you intend to support the continuing act of the Republic of the Philippines, following its predecessor and interest of recognizing the Sultanate of Sulu as a leading and unifying institution in the indigenous cultural communities in the Sulu archipelago and territories of North Borneo?” the senator asked.

Manalo said that his department will abide by the continuing Philippine policy and that the agency is coordinating with concerned agencies to really assess the nature and implications of the French court ruling. (Albert Calvelo / Senate PRIB)
