During his recent UN General Assembly address, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of digital transformation in allowing countries to keep up with the rapidly changing global environment.
While digital innovations may provide solutions to long-standing issues, nations must have robust governance structures in place to mitigate disruptions, according to PBBM. He went on to say that the digital shift would also make information more accessible, benefiting the most vulnerable people and accelerating progress.

MANILA – Digital transformation would allow all nations to keep abreast of a changing world, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Wednesday (Manila time).
Marcos issued the statement during the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City, as he lamented that many nations still “barely understand” the use and advantage of digital technologies.
Marcos pitched for the rapid adoption of digital innovations to enable all countries to keep up.
“The development of advanced technologies is rapidly transforming human life and experience. We still barely understand how these transformations are unfolding and where they are leading. The imminent diffusion of these emerging technologies could solve many of our old problems, but they could also disrupt our political and social orders. Our governance structures must keep up,” he said.
“The world is ready for transformation. It is up to us as leaders of our nations, to move and shape that transformation” Marcos added.
President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. met with President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java to sign four bilateral agreements, bolstering the Philippines’ and Indonesia’s 73-year partnership.

I didn’t vote for him, but majority of our leaders, church family members, and even majority of my family members voted for him. But do you know why he was already winning even in surveys?
Come on! Let’s face it! Believe it or not, surveys are real. And only the dumb and numb won’t believe it. And I suggest they better study and review history.
Do you know why I believe surveys are true? Because aside from the historical facts, surveys have professional researchers. They are skilled. They have the mastery and expertise. Yes, they absolutely know the right methodology in order to get the most credible result.
As a leadership scholar, I have learned numerous leadership styles. For years, I have studied and scrutinized various leaders in history. And we have even developed our own leadership model. Yes, we have used empirical evidences, because that’s the only way for us to become very objective. (Hindi puro haka-haka)
By the way, the purpose of this writing is to teach a very important aspect in the area of leadership. I have advised, counseled, and coached different organizational, business, church, and para church leaders, and based on my very own experience, I can boldly tell with great assurance that it is BBM’s humble character that is attracting a lot of people. Filipinos are basically merciful and gracious. Naaawa tayo sa mga binabastos. Madali nating panigan ang mga hindi lumalaban. Tinutulungan natin at ipinagtatanggol ang mga pinag-aalimura.
I have watched and compared all the presidential candidates. I have heard them talked. I have heard them interviewed by various networks. I have watched them respond to various complicated and intriguing issues…
And almost all (again, not all) the candidates have malicious if not offensive statements, and here is former Senator Bongbong Marcos, so humble and cool as Ice, in addressing issues (although in the eyes of many he’s just evading some issues).
My friend, as you read this, my purpose isn’t to argue with you. Remember, I didn’t vote for him, yet I can’t deny the fact that I admire him. I admire his character. I like his humility and consistency. Hindi siya pikon at hindi mapagpatol. His humble character is his advantage.
Yes, character is what really matters most in leadership. Of course we are badly in need of skills and competence. (That’s why I voted for a different candidate who has exemplified promptness and excellence) But, the truth is majority of people don’t really care about competence. What people are looking for is character and behavior that is so consistent.
Character is what really attracts people and that which maintains leadership. Yes, it maybe true that the old Marcoses have committed some mistakes in the past. And probably he himself also did. But that’s not the point, my precious fellow. The point is why he is so loved by the overwhelming majority? And it’s pointless to point out about their effective campaign strategy. Remember, Pres. Duterte won the presidency despite limited machinery (And why he won is another subject of analysis).
All politicians should really learn from their opponents. Politicians and campaign managers should forget about the old school of looking so good in the eyes of others while maligning other candidates.
As I end my writing, let me tell you one thing that I want to sink in your heart and mind. —- HUMILITY IS THE KEY TO GREATNESS.
Yes, I know you have your own opinion. And you must have your own. Pero kabayan, lagi mo pakatatandaan na hindi mo kayang baguhin ang puso ng ibang tao habang siya ay iyong kinamumuhian.
BBM and his team were so effective in utilizing leadership by character through consistency. Let me quote what Rodriguez (his spokesperson) said, “he never spoke ill of anyone.“
Mahal kong kabayan, sino man ang iboto o ibinoto mo, magkakampi tayong lahat. Kumilos tayo ng may tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan.
And for those who will try to question my credibility… (Ganito kasi rito sa mundo eh, marami ang feeling magagaling at matatalino) Then, this is for you. Ako po si Ariel Bernardo.
